Seymour Hersh has been reporting for the last two years that we are closer to war with Iran than most people imagine. William Kristol has made various claims concerning the Bush administration's desire to strike the country. Iran has warned that any military strike within it's borders would be an act of war.

After starting two preemtive wars the Bush administration has pushed the U.S. away from many of our traditional allies. Both of these wars have proven that war is unpredictable; there are unforseen consequences. We have seen moments when these wars have threatened to widen to engulf the region. The U.S. has made incursions into Pakistan and Iran. Isreal attacked Syria in 2007. What would our former partners in the world do if another war was started in the middle east by the U.S.?
